There are 8 elements in Mise-en-scene:
1)Balanced Composition
Lighting is sets by mood. It is also the important part of the film because it can highlight and obscure elements within a scene. It can also establish the character, mood and verisimilitude.
There are 3 different types of lighting:
1)High-Key lighting- It is bright and there are no shadow.
2)Low-Key lighting- It is dark and moody, usually can be found in serious matter, dramas or horror movies.
3)Naturalistic lighting- It is usually take by natural light from outside, this will also increase a high degree of verisimilitude.

Composition is the layout of the frame.
There are two different kinds of composition:
1)Balanced Composition
Balanced composition means the person or object is in the middle.
2)Imbalanced Composition
Imbalanced Composition means that the person is not in the middle.
Settings is the most important thing in Mise-en-scene because it can tell people whether the place is Period/era, Genre, the information about the character and the information about a specific place. The settings is important because it can tell you the information about the person and the place they are staying.

Props tells us the environment or the object of the film. For example: if they are in a old bar we would know that might be 50s or 60s. If they are using office phones we would know that they might be in an office.
Costumes is also important in film because it can tell us whether they are rich or poor through the way they dress up. For example: for a period film, the person might wear an old fashion clothes. It can also tell us the information of the setting. For example: if the person is working or lives in a big city, he/she might be wearing formal clothes.
This is a period film.
Performance is the most important in the film. It is how the director of the film create the character. Factor in film to consider is:
Speech: Accent, Volume, Rhythm, Tone, Articulation, Pace
Body Language: Posture, Tension, Movement, emotion, physical prowess, confidence, agility, grace
Motivation/ Reaction: How did they react
Facial expression: emotion, eye line, communicate, eye contact
Speech: Tone
Pitch
Emotion
Rhythm
Volume
Face (Speed)
Accent
Reginal Specificity
